Syrian families

Syria is further proof that in every Muslim country, compliance with all the rules is different. The Syrians are trying to abandon strict rules that prohibit almost all activities, and even more so for women. The Syrians are very sociable, they themselves go to visit and receive guests with pleasure.

There is very little entertainment in Syria and therefore it is guests or visiting guests that can defuse the situation. The Syrians love to talk and an invitation to lunch or dinner means that there will be a long conversation first, which can last several hours.

Alcohol is practically not used in Syria, and even guests will not be offered anything from strong drinks. Often they sit down at the table after a long conversation closer to midnight. The table is always full of a variety of dishes and the best piece is always offered to guests and the guest is obliged to try everything that the host will offer him.

Thus, time passes by with unhurried conversations and a hearty dinner or lunch. This is practically the only entertainment for many Syrians. Young people, of course, can find more interesting entertainment for themselves, but this is a little expensive for the average Syrian.

Muslims greatly respect all the customs and traditions that accompany them throughout their lives. In every little detail, there is a love for national customs, which is manifested even in how the hostesses make tea or coffee, how they set the table, how they receive guests.

Hospitality in the East is one of the most entertaining features, because only Muslims can receive a guest with such great honor that everyone can feel like the most respected person. Guests are received according to all traditions that have not changed over the years.

As in any other country, weddings in Syria are celebrated noisy and solemnly. After all, such an event should be seen by everyone. Weddings are attended not only by relatives, close or distant friends of the family, but also by all the neighbors. Traditionally, weddings are celebrated separately in the bride's house and separately in the groom's house. All the female half of the family, the bride's friends, neighbors gather at the bride. Men gather in the groom's house.

The celebration is noisy and fun, and usually all the fun is accompanied by songs and national dances. What is most interesting is that modern youth dance with great pleasure to national songs and music on a par with modern music. Young people also have a keen sense of adherence to ancient customs.

The wedding cortege has also now become a must-have for every wedding in Syria, which travels throughout the city in order to announce the streets with loud signals and shouts. Every resident of the city should see and know that the most important event in their lives is taking place in the lives of two young people. Only after the cortege has traveled throughout the city, the bride is taken to the house of her young husband.

Usually, in Syria, gifts to young people begin to give only a week later, but in some rural areas there is still a tradition of giving gifts on the second day after the wedding. On the wedding day itself, the young people are given mostly small souvenirs and many flowers.

A wedding is always great when a new family is being created. The traditions that accompany wedding ceremonies must and will be preserved, because this day must be memorable for everyone present at the wedding and, of course, for the newlyweds themselves.

Everyone can make a mistake in life, which later will be very difficult to correct. As a result, in Syria, so that young people do not make too hasty decisions and do not enter into an unequal marriage, the decision to marry has been discussed for a long time.

First, the issue of this is decided between the relatives of both young people, and the bride also has the right to vote on an equal basis with everyone, despite the fact that the father always decides the fate of his children himself.

In addition, the groom in Syria must prove that he can support his young wife and is ready to start a family. This means that he must have sufficient material independence from his parents, or his parents must prove that their son can support his wife and children. The proof is the expensive gifts that the groom presents to his bride and future wife.

It is for this reason that marriages are concluded quite late in Syria, because not everyone can accumulate enough money in order to make worthy gifts and provide for their family.

A girl's weddings in Syria can wait a long time, until they can find a worthy person for themselves who will become real support for them in everything and can make her happy in the full sense of the word. It also happens that girls get married after thirty years. Men in Syria can go bachelors even up to forty years, because they cannot accumulate fortunes quickly enough.

There are no less customs and rituals in Syria during the funeral, because the deceased have the right to leave this world with dignity. Among Muslims, unlike adherents of other religions, a person's body cannot be kept unburied for a long time. Usually the funeral takes place either the same day or the next day.

A funeral is not a time when it is worth crying a lot, because the departed simply leave for another world and must be celebrated with dignity. The body of the deceased is always wrapped in a white shroud. A funeral service takes place in the mosque, where the body is carried in the arms. Only men see off a person on the last journey; women are forbidden to attend the burial.

At the cemetery, where the burial takes place, no one lingers for long, because it is believed that the last one who leaves the cemetery can be taken with him by the deceased himself or by Allah. It is not customary to commemorate the dead with alcoholic beverages at the commemoration; only tea or coffee is served. Guests can come to express their condolences for the deceased after 7 days after the funeral, as well as after 40 days.
